Welcome to Hard Reset, a gamified task management application operated by ChopWood LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Hard Reset mobile application (the "App").
BY CREATING AN ACCOUNT OR USING THE APP, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
By accessing or using Hard Reset, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Hard Reset. If you are under 18, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
To use Hard Reset, you must create an account by providing a valid email address. You are responsible for:
We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove or edit content at our sole discretion for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
Hard Reset is currently in active development and provided "AS IS" during the beta period.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.
Hard Reset is currently 100% free to use.
There are no subscriptions, payments, or in-app purchases at this time. All features are available to all users at no cost.
We may introduce pricing in the future. If we do, we will provide reasonable advance notice. Any pricing changes will be processed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), and refunds will be subject to their respective policies.
Hard Reset is a single-player experience, and we take a hands-off approach to how you use the App within your own account. However, you agree that you will NOT:
Enforcement: Any attempt to hack our infrastructure, access other users' data, or attack our services may result in account termination and appropriate legal action as necessary.
Within your own account, we do not restrict or take action against:
All content included in the App—including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, audio clips, video, data compilations, game mechanics, code, and software—is the property of ChopWood LLC or its licensors and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works of any content from the App without our express written permission.
You retain all ownership rights to the content you create in the App (tasks, todos, notes, etc.). By creating content in Hard Reset, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
We do not use your content for any other purpose, including advertising, marketing, or training AI models. We do not share, sell, or disclose your content to third parties except as required to provide the service (e.g., Firebase/Google Cloud for storage) or as required by law.
Currently, Hard Reset does not provide automated data export functionality. Your game state and tasks are stored in a unified JSON format.
If you wish to request an export of your data:

Hard Reset is a tool to help gamify your task management. You remain solely responsible for:
We are not liable if you forget to pay your taxes, miss an important deadline, or fail to complete critical tasks due to App errors, downtime, or your reliance on the App.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ChopWood LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify.

Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights or to enforce the security and hacking provisions in Section 6.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at hello@hardreset.app and requesting account deletion. Upon termination:

Except in cases of serious violations (hacking, security threats), we will make reasonable efforts to preserve your data for 30 days after termination to allow you to request an export.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ChopWood LLC regarding the use of the App and supersede any prior agreements.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by us.
